Consolidated Geophysical Surveys (CGS)
The company was founded in 1948 by C.D. Roemer. The company is now owned by Chris Roemer. Our goal is to provide good leads and surveys to the industry out of our massive library. Please email or call us for more info on purchasing data, and running new gravity or magnetic surveys.
CGS has conducted oil and gas exploration programs in practically all the basins of the continental U.S.A. and Canada. This was done for most of the major oil companies and many independent operators.
C.D. Roemer was a professional geologist and geophysicist who worked for Shell Oil for 7 years before founding CGS. C.D. was in charge of some of their geophysical crews and mapping programs. C.D. gravity interpretation was responsible for Shell's leasing the first 23000 acres and subsequent discovery of 150 million barrel oil fields in Beckam County.
Chris has worked in the business for over 35 years. He has helped discover new production including the successful NE Casey Oil field found in Pottowatomie County, KS. This field was his first prospect at that the age of 16 years of age. Chris picked the discovery location with ground magnetics.

We run new surveys for oil companies, mineral owners, investors ,as well as broker our library data. CGS has also interpretated many of the surveys run by other companies, such as
Exploration Surveys Inc.
Most of the Surveys in our library still have many leads in them.
The Magnetic and Gravity Surveys are tied with the tightest of resolution, even to this day.
Since our company is located in the central part of the lower 48 states we have concentrated our work in the Mid-West. The company has worked in Alaska and Canada for ten years. C.G.S along with partners invented the Photo Elevation Camera for surveying. The camera gave coordinates and elevations for gravity meter readings.
Mr. James R. New was one of the inventers the Photo Elevation Camera. Jim is one of C.G.S. most loved partners.
